Artist Bio

Caspar Snyder is a young artist from Buffalo that specializes in oil painting, sculpture, and drawing. Caspar is an advocate for mental health reform due to the prevalence of mental illness in the LGBTQA+ community, alongside additional minority groups that also suffer from a lack of mental health resources. A lot of Caspar’s artwork revolves around transferring their own struggles with mental health and queer identity into physical representations in an effort to open a dialogue with communities and destigmatize conversations centered around mental health.

Caspar is currently set to complete a B.A. in Fine Arts at Buffalo State College at the end of this year. Their work has been featured in multiple juried exhibitions and has been showcased in advanced student gallery exhibitions, as well as the Dean’s gallery exhibition, at Buffalo State. Caspar has also received the Hyatt’s Student Award of Excellence for their work in sculpture and completed a public mural at the Ellicott Creek Bark Park as part of a service-learning course. They have also completed a six month internship at Walt Disney World Resort as a Photopass photographer.
